Kane may be the lesser-known Last Shadow Puppet for now, but he need not fear that his solo appeal is going unnoticed. Indeed, there is an online fan site hotly dedicated to his assets.

“What?” He laughs. “What’s it called?”

I describe the website: touch upon about the poetry and the topless photographs of him. I explain that the site includes a brief resume of Kane’s charms, which I proceed to read aloud, asking him to interrupt if there are any accolades with which he disagrees. “Dedicated to the Wirral musician Miles Kane,” it reads, “musician, guitar god, drop-dead gorgeous man, one half of The Last Shadow Puppets – plus actor.”

“That’s nice innit? They’ve got me down a treat, haven’t they?” he throws his head back. “It said I’m an actor?” Kane had a walk-on part in 2009 post-punk football flick Awaydays, did he not? “Don’t go there,” he says with a shudder. Then he smiles and shrugs. “Nah, I wouldn’t knock any of it. I wouldn’t be here now if anything that I’d done before was taken out – anything.”
